Central
Louisiana is one of the most easy-going places in the world,
especially Avoyelles Parish. The local people are
hard-working and friendly, especially to strangers. Our
unique outlook on life makes all our guests feel welcome and
gives those the feeling of being 'at-home'.
Primarily a farming community, you will find many folks in the
dining room at 5 a.m. wide-awake and enjoying coffee and a
genuine home-cooked breakfast.
A hunters paradise indeed! You are in Duck Hunting Haven.
Toledo Bend Reservoir is the mother of many of our local skiing
and fishing recreational parks such as Indian Creek, 10 minutes
away. Lake Chicot, 10 miles in the opposite direction is
2000 acres of cypress trees, tupelo gum, and is a fisherman and
campers dream.
Antique shopping is everywhere!! Sometimes you have to dig
a little to find the out of the way places and then again
sometimes they stare you in the face. Antique merchants
love to 'deal and cut their prices to make you happy and the
status-quo is lagnaippe which means 'something extra'.
So, during your stay, get out and just try to get lost, you'll
find treasure and good-natured people in abundance. Don't
worry about getting lost, some one will direct or even bring you
home, back to
